Resources > How Do You Schedule a Concrete Pour for ICF?
4 Steps to Ensure a Successful ICF Pour!
In ICF construction, timing can make or break a project. Whether you’re a contractor or a DIY builder, one of the most common questions we get at Rocktown ICF Supply is: “How do I schedule my concrete pour?” It’s a good and an important question.
Step 1: Know Your Yardage
Before anything gets on the schedule, you need to know how much concrete your project requires. Estimating the correct yardage for your walls is critical; one wrong calculation can lead to delays or waste.
To estimate the cost of your ICF pours, you can use Rocktown ICF Supply’s user-friendly ICF Calculator Form. Simply input your wall’s length and height to receive a quick quote from a Rocktown ICF representative.
Step 2: Coordinate Your Crew
Once your measurements are ready, you’ll want to book two things at the same time:
A local ready-mix concrete company
A boom pump company
Both need to be available on the same day and within the same time window. Ideally, schedule at least 1–2 weeks in advance especially during busy seasons when crews are booked out.
Step 3: Prep the Site
Before any concrete hits the forms, your site needs to be fully prepped—and that starts with solid bracing. Poor bracing can lead to bowed walls, blowouts, or costly rework. We’ve seen it all, and we break down what “proper” really means in this article on bracing.
Don’t leave it to chance. Make sure your walls are locked in, your seams are sealed, and your pour path is clear.
Step 4: Don’t Do It Alone
At Rocktown, we’re more than a supplier—we’re part of your crew. Whether you need help setting your blocks, estimating yardage, or managing the pour, we’re here to make sure your ICF project stays strong, straight, and on schedule.
